BombBomb from an Email Subscriber Cost Perspective

Avg. Google Ads cost per click in real estate$1.55$1.55
Cost per email subscriber$80.60$80.60
Assumed email subscriber conversion rate for appointments8.17%10.21%
Email subscribers needed per appointment12.238.26
Cost per appointment$986$666

Video offers better conversion potential than text.

In my article about video marketing in real estate, I mentioned the video’s overall promising conversion data.

But what I found regarding video in emails confirms what I already covered in the article mentioned:

  • Attaching a video to an email can lead to a 200-300% increase in click-through rates (CTR) (source).
  • You can get a CTR increase of 96% when using video in an initial email (source).
  • Marketers (78%) using video in email say that it increased their ROI (source).
  • If you use the term “video” in the subject line, you can increase open rates by 19%, CTR by 65%, and you will reduce the number of unsubscribers by 26% (source).
  • The ideal length of a video in an email should be around two minutes (source).

The average form or opt-in rate in real estate in 2023 is 1,9% (source).

This means you would need, on average, 52 website/ landing page visitors (1 divided by 1.9%) to get one subscriber.

Let’s assume you use Google search ads to drive traffic to your real estate website and pay $1.55 per click (source)

In this case, you would pay $80.60 per email subscriber (52 x $1.55).

Here, you can already see how increasing the conversion rate at this point is crucial to reducing your ad spend.

According to this source, the average email subscriber conversion rate in retail e-commerce purchases was 8.17%.

While it’s not a number from real estate, we can assume this would likely be the conversion rate for buyer or seller appointments.

This means you would need 12.23 email subscribers to get one appointment out of them

These would be costs of $986 (12.23 subscribers x $80.60) per appointment.

Let’s see how a video would change these costs by applying the above statistics.

Remember, attaching a video to an email can lead to a 200-300% increase in click-through rates.

In an ideal world, an increase in CTR (click-through rates) would translate 1:1 into the same increase in conversions. But that’s not the case.

That’s why I won’t translate the 200-300% increase in CTR when you attach a video in an email to a 200-300% increase in conversion rates.

Let’s assume that it would affect the CVR only by 10% of the 200-300% increase in click-through rate, and let’s apply it to a 250% increase on average.

The 10% effect of the 250% CTR increase would mean 25% that we can translate to a CVR increase.

This would mean an increase in conversion rates from 8.17% to 10.21%.

Doesn’t look like much, you might say. But wait for it…

Let’s do the same calculation again, with the increased conversion rate of 10.21%.

Instead of 12.23 subscribers to get one appointment, you would only need 8.26.

These would be costs of $666 per appointment. That’s a difference of roughly $320.

So, it’s not shabby at all what you could save.

And remember, I assumed only a small portion (10%) of the click-through rate increase with video email would translate to a rise in subscriber conversions.

Four BombBomb Alternatives for Real Estate

I strictly researched alternatives closest to BombBomb regarding video email and messaging features.

I think email marketing providers that can also send videos don’t count.

The focus had to be clearly on video messaging and email to qualify as a BombBomb alternative.

I also excluded providers that didn’t disclose their pricing on their websites.

So, here they are:

  • Vidyard (from $0 to $59 per month)
  • HippoVideo (from $0 to $80 per month)
  • Dubb (from $0 to $129 per month)
  • Bonjorno (from $0 to $99 per month)
